Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) is an open-world action-adventure game set in Los Santos and the surrounding countryside, a fictional version of Los Angeles and Southern California.
You play as three main characters—Michael, a retired bank robber; Franklin, a young street hustler; and Trevor, a chaotic career criminal. The game lets you switch between them during missions and in free roam, giving different perspectives on the same world.
The story focuses on big heists, personal drama, and corruption involving gangs, the government, and rival criminals.
Outside the main missions, you can explore a huge map, drive cars, fly planes, customize vehicles and weapons, buy property, do sports, and take part in random events.
GTA Online adds a multiplayer mode where you create your own character, earn money, buy apartments, cars, and businesses, and team up with or fight other players in missions, races, and large-scale heists.
